As a friendly reminder, swim buoys…
are only permitted to be installed in/on GPC lakes between Memorial Day and Labor Day
must be located within 50 Feet of the shoreline and must not interfere with the legal flow of boat traffic
must not have the appearance of state-enforced regulatory markers/buoys
should not exceed 2 per lot
should be secured to a “mobile” weight, heavy enough to keep the buoy in-place during the summer months, but light enough to remove or relocate to the shoreline or dock after Labor Day
Please remember that the purpose of a swim buoy is to bring attention to a swimming area, not to keep boats away from the shoreline or shoreline improvements.
GPC will be relocating or removing swim buoys from the lake in the coming weeks, so please be sure to remove or relocate your swim buoys as soon as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Georgia Power Lake Resources
